Community Dances

Home On The Range has a number of different Community Dance programs.

The New England Town Hall Dance begins with the Grand March and ends with the Last Waltz. In between there is a complete program of group and couple dances including circle dances, contra dances, waltzes, polkas, and schottisches. Live music and dance instruction are provided. No experience is necessary. Singles are welcome. Children accompanied by an adult are admitted free of charge.
The Family Dance uses playparty games and simple circle dances to bring children and adults together on the dance floor. Many of the dances are mixers encouraging the frequent and friendly exchange of dance partners. Because the basic progression of the Family Dance moves from simpler dances to more complicated dances, it's a perfect dance program for beginning dancers of all ages.
The Irish Dance is a program of traditional jigs and reels danced in circle and line formations. All the steps are taught. Each dance is called. The no fault method of instruction ensures success for beginning dancers while still offering a challenge to intermediate and advanced dancers.

The Wedding Dance is the traditional way to celebrate a wedding. The mixers and playparty games make it easy for wedding guests of all ages to join each other on the dance floor. The Grand March and the Wedding Waltz honor the bride and groom. All dances are taught. No experience is necessary. The program of group dances and couple dances includes circle dances, contra dances, waltzes, polkas, and schottisches. No wedding in Minnesota is complete without a polka.

Home On The Range Community Dances are suitable for church fundraisers, family reunions, school parties, summer camp activities, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Please call 218-666-5990 for more information about sponsoring a Community Dance.
